If you check out Matthew 16:15, it says, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." It doesn't say, "Stay within your church walls and do nothing about the people in the world who have no idea how Jesus can flip their worlds upside down." It also doesn't say, "Chill out and let God do all the work." nor does it say "Go into all the world and scream in peoples faces about how they'll burn in hell if they don't repent right now."
Sometimes, we get in these types of mindsets. Many times we either don't think we should do anything or we get a little too carried away with getting in people's faces. That's why our Outreach Team has decided to model the Outreach ministry after a ministry that always worked. That ministry is the ministry of Jesus. Jesus didn't sit on a rock and eat cheetos and let God do all the work. He willingly lived a life of outreach. He didn't jump in the faces of the people he ministered to and tell them how much they stunk at life. He connected with them, loved on them, and offered them Salvation in a way they could understand.
That's what we want to do at Hope. We want to take Hope outside of the building and into the community and ultimately the world. We want to connect with people and love on them. We want to show them Jesus by living by example and giving them the Gospel in a way they can understand.
We do several Outreach events throughout the year. We have one monthly project, but we aren't limited to just it.
